Now, having been at an 18th last night and discussed through my minimal knowledge of 'Sheen's Korner', I had to work out what has gone on. As we all know by now, Sheen got hooked on drugs and booze, went to rehab, came out a 'reformed' man, went mental towards his bosses at Warner Bros, they sacked him, he sued for $100m. And that's where we stand currently. Phew.
So what's happened since? The now-infamous interview, where he claimed he had 'tiger blood', he was 'banging 7 gram rocks, cos that's how [sic] he rolled', and when the interviewer asked 'Charlie, are you bi-polar?', he replied with 'No, I'm bi-winning', and managed to keep a straight face. His videos are all over YouTube, and there's now a Twitter campaign for something called '#fastball', which no-one really gets... Yes, Charlie is now on Twitter, and holds the world record for the quickest time for a member to get to one million followers, in just over 25 hours... And in 13 days, it's become two and a half million.
But what's next? Well, the rumours that he had signed to Live Nation were confirmed by his new website store, selling shiny Sheeny merchandise. He is going on a US-wide tour, entitled 'My Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is not an Option Show'. It's all gone a bit Pete Tong in Mr Sheen's head, but it's utterly brilliant.
And people have embraced the craziness in so many different ways...
How's about this? We have a Duck Sauce parody, from Spinstyle, entitled, quite simply, 'Charlie Sheen (Spinstyle's Bi-Winning Edit)'. And it's genius. We've also got something from schmoyoho, where Sheen's interview is auto-tuned, and suddenly becomes even more amazing.
Or what about a little something for those of you who like your dubstep? Even better.
I don't know what will come next, but we all know that this will keep rolling on, and it is such a good thing for the media and the world of the mental internet. I for one, am in Sheen's Korner.
