Comic Relief 2011: BBC Radio 1's Longest Show Ever with Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave for Comic Relief

A very quick, short blog to recognise a massive achievement. The wonderfully-titled 'BBC Radio 1's Longest Show Ever with Chris Moyles and Comedy Dave for Comic Relief' came to an end earlier this morning, after an astonishing 52 consecutive hours on the radio. Not only that, but they raised a quite incredible £2,622,421 for Comic Relief through the generosity of Radio 1 listeners.

Not only is this a massive broadcasting feat, but on top of that, what they have done to help change lives in Africa will have an everlasting difference to thousands of people both in the UK and in third-world countries.

I've always thought Chris' show, with Dave and co, was by far the best thing on radio. And the 52 hours I dipped in and out of have been some of the best stuff I've heard, and restored my dream to be a top journalist and broadcaster.

Keep an eye on my blog for my own Red Nose Day plans, and big, big, big congratulations to everyone, no matter what you've done. You've helped aid those poor and vulnerable, and made a difference.
